Getting Started on Yala Mainnet
Yala is a native Bitcoin liquidity protocol that channels BTC into yield opportunities across DeFi and RWAs without giving up ownership of their assets.
To start interacting on Yala mainnet, here’s everything you need to do:
Begin Your Yala Mainnet Journey in 4 Steps
Step 1: Visit the App
Go to app.yala.org - this is where all interactions on Yala take place.
If you have landed on the Yala website, simply click the “Launch Mainnet” button.
Step 2: Connect Your Wallets
You’ll need to connect 2 wallets. Click the “Connect Wallet” button in the upper right corner to connect your wallet:
- BTC Wallet (Taproot-compatible):
It's crucial to ensure that you are using the Bitcoin environment. Choose your preferred Bitcoin wallet (e.g. UniSat), and make sure it supports Taproot (starting with “bc1p…”).
- Destination Chain Wallet (Ethereum Mainnet): After connecting your Bitcoin wallet, the next step is to connect your Destination Chain Wallet. This is the wallet where you want to receive $YU.
- Click the “Connect Destination Chain Wallet” button in the upper right corner of the protocol page.
- Sign in to your wallet and ensure it is connected to the Ethereum Mainnet.
Step 3: Deposit BTC and mint $YU
You will need to first deposit BTC to obtain YBTC. The exchange rate is 1 BTC = 1 YBTC. Please click the upper right corner YBTC button to start.
- Enter how much BTC you’d like to deposit
- The system will generate a deposit address for your BTC
- After on-chain confirmation (can take up to ~1 hour), you’ll receive YBTC in your destination chain wallet (e.g. Ethereum)
Step 4: MetaMint $YU & Earn
Deposit YBTC, MetaMint $YU and Earn. Click “MetaMint YU” to start.
Alternatively, you could also go to Convert to get some YU without any slippage, and then go to "Earn" directly.
What Can You Do After?
- Stake your $YU in the Stability Pool
- Provide liquidity on across multiple protocols and stake LP tokens for rewards via Yala Farming
- Use the DeFi Marketplace to access external yield strategies
- Track your vaults, LPs, and balances in the Portfolio page
- View your earned Berries and rewards on the BerryBoard
- Earn Berries to qualify for airdrops
